Julian Mauro Pellegrini

Director

Julián Mauro Pellegrini (Mar del Plata, Argentina) is an Argentine filmmaker and software developer. He is currently studying for a university degree in Audiovisual Communication (Tecnicatura Universitaria en Comunicación Audiovisual, TUCA) at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design (FAUD) of the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMDP). Before moving into filmmaking, he trained as a Programming Technician at the National Technological University (UTN, 2023–2024) and worked as a backend developer (Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data) in a microservices environment in 2025. Between 2018 and 2023, he worked as a freelance video editor for events and advertising. That dual background in technology and image runs through his audiovisual work. In Deshumanización Digital (Digital Dehumanization), an audiovisual essay produced at university, he combines photography, video and programming to reflect on how digital devices have taken over everyday attention, relationships and our perception of reality, drawing on a semiotic reading of photographer Richard Kalvar's work. The project can be viewed at deshumanizacion.netlify.app. In 2026 he made his directorial debut with the short film El Encuentro, a psychological thriller produced for the Audiovisual Project 2 course at FAUD-UNMDP, on which he also worked actively as editor.
