Director
Ioanna Tsilili is a scriptwriter, film director and producer credited in fiction and documentary films, based in Athens, Greece. Her work centers on intimate stories of resilience and belonging, often told through complex female protagonists. Surrealism, psychoanalytical inquiry and ambiguity of reality are reflected in her work. Her first short film "ALL THAT RAIN WASHED AWAY" (2022) premiered at 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. Her second short film "WINCLIPPER"- a retrofuturistic sci-fi thriller - was released in September 2026. She is a Sarajevo Talent Script Station 2026. Currently, she is developing her first feature film "DON’T ASK ME WHY I HATE AUGUST" -supported by EKKOMED Debut Film Screenwriting fund and selected at TorinoFilmLab Next Feature 2026. She studied Chemical Engineering at National Technical University of Athens and has done doctoral studies at the Enita de Bordeaux. For years, she has worked in the wine and spirits industry in Europe and the US. She is a "Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos" alum, since 2022. In addition, she studied acting in Greece and the United States (Ivana Chubbuck and Stella Adler Los Angeles). She developed her first limited series "PINK WINE" at Series Mania Eureka Lab 2022. In 2025 she founded The Greek Romantics Productions focusing on female directors and out-of-context stories.
